Will putting my shoes (TOMS) in a plastic bag then the freezer kill bacteria causing bad odor?
I read that if you put your shoes (TOMS) in a plastic bag, then place them in the freezer, the cold temperature will kill the bacteria that cause the bad odor. Is this true? What are other ways to get rid of bad odors in shoes?

Ridiculous – who would want to put their smelly shoes in a refrigerator/freezer.
Most toms are made of fabric, they are washable. Soak them a few hours in a bucket of warm water and a cup of baking soda before you put them in the washing machine. You can throw smelly socks in the same solution.
The freezer where you keep your food is no place for shoes. Plus, you’ll then just have nasty dead bacteria bodies in your shoes.
1) Wash them in cool water on the gentle cycle of the washer and tumble dry low for a few minutes (let them air dry the rest of the way and stretch them out while still damp).
2) dump some baking soda in them and shake it around. Let them sit overnight then shake out the baking soda.
3) wear socks with your shoes to keep bacteria that is attracted to sweaty feet largely confined to something washable.
4) spray deodorant works to help control smelly bacteria and is designed to be safe on skin. Spray before and after you wear the shoes
