New Balance running shoes are made by New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. (NBAS), known for the shortage New Balance.

This footwear manufacturer is located in Boston. The company was founded in 1906 and since then, thanks to huge advertising campaigns, has turned to be one of the biggest makers and sellers of running shoes all over.

Location of Production

New Balance is distinguished from its competitors such as Adidas and Nike by not producing in developing countries such as Vietnam, China and more developing countries, a production published as children labor.  New Balance running shoes are maintained being produced in the United Kingdom for the European market and in the U.S.

Qualities created especially by New Balance

Producing the New Balance running shoes therefore are less chip than the competitors’ running shoes. As compensation New Balance shoes must have advantages that are not given by others. These features include heel counters, blend of gel insert and a biggest selection of sizes; especially of very wide and/or very narrow widths.

History

The New Balance running shoe is actually the first running shoe made with a ripple sole and the first to shoe to come in varying widths!  It was called the “Trackster”, first designed and manufactured in 1961 by Eleanor and Paul Kidd.

The New Balance running shoes story started 55 years earlier when William J. Riley, a 33 year old English immigrant initiated an arch supports and other accessories for Shoes Company in Boston called the New Balance ArchSupport Company.

YouTube Preview Image

It was 1934 when Riley found himself a partner, his top salesman, Arthur Hall. Hall sold shoes for people who as part of their job have stood for many hours daily.

In 1956, New balance was sold to his daughter Eleanor and her husband Paul Kidd. They sold mainly arch supports until 1961, when the “Trackster” story launched.

Next turning point happened 11 years later when the company was bought by today’s chairman Jim Davis. Until that time marketing happened usually in local sports fairs and by word-of-mouth and sales dwindled.

Selling New Balance running shoes was as never as close to the BANG, and it was carefully planned by Davis. The company employed 6 people who produced 30 pairs of shoes daily, sold by mail-order with a few U.S. retailers.

YouTube Preview Image

In order to reinforce the company’s commitment to customer service, quality products and individual preferences Jim Davis committed himself. His future wife followed him and joined the company in 1978.

She was devoted to the idea of building a culture distinct for good for the benefit of the New Balance employees and customers.

People say timing is everything. In this occasion this is as twice as correct. The Jogging era has begun stirring and boiling the U.S. in the 1970s and the Boston area with it.

Sales skyrocketed, lines of production have widened and varied, and the company prospered.

To the Davises it looked like the right timing to expand the New Balance shoe company into a global giant.

New balance shoes are not given names. Instead, it gets a 2-4 digit model number. For example you can watch the name new balance 574.

This marketing philosophy emphasizes the New Balance brand as a whole that is represented by different models of shoes and not as different shoes styles such as New Balance men’s, New Balance women’s, men’s New Balance shoes, running New Balance, New Balance walking and so on.

YouTube Preview Image

A shoe redesign increases its number by one, like new balance 574 can become new balance 574. The public does not have an intimate acquaintance with the numbers’ significance and meaning and numbers are frequently changed due to redesigns.

Men’s New Balance shoes as well as women’s New Balance shoes are usually offered to the clients in a wide range of widths. Men’s New Balance shoes typically offered from B to 6E with 3 more widths in between (D, 2E, 4E) and one narrower size (2A).

Women’s New Balance shoes typically offered from 4A to 4E with four widths to choose from in between (2A, B, D, 2E).

Dr. Martens, doc martens, dr marten, dr martens men’s, women’s dr martens are read differently but all are belong to one company called Dr. Martens. It is clothing, accessories and footwear brand. Other names often called are Doc Martens, Docs or DMs.

Dr. Klaus Märtens, German born, has developed these dubbed Bouncing air-cushioned Soles. Major clients of Dr. Martens shoes were grungers, punks and skinheads.

Dr. Martens History

The doc martens shoes were a product of circumstances, it was made by Klaus Märtens, a doctor in the nazi German army during World War II. He injured his ankle while skiing in the Bavarian Alps on leave in 1945. His standard-issue army boots wouldn’t support his injured foot so he designed his boots’ improvements including air-padded soles and soft leather.

After the war’s end he looted leather from a cobbler’s shop. This leather became his self-made pair of air-cushioned soles boots.

To become a hit for women over the age of 40 dr marten took not too long. Apparently he was not much of a salesman, lucky he was to meet in Munich in 1947 an old university friend, Dr. Herbert Funck. This Funck guy was piqued by this new doc martens shoes design and together they went into business in Seeshaupt, Germany, that same year.

They used Luftwaffe airfields’ discarded rubber to make comfortable and durable soles that became like already told, to a hit for women, housewives over the age of 40.

A factory was opened in Munich by 1952 due to a significant growth in doc martens sales.

Dr Martens men’s and women’s shoes went international in 1959 when company had grown large enough for the 2 partners to look at the footwear international market.

At the same time the British shoe manufacturer R. Griggs Group Ltd. bought the patent rights for the manufacturing of these dr marten’s shoes in the U.K. He anglicized the name, redesigned small part of the heel, added yellow stitching on the trademark and called the soles AirWair to trademark it.

Hence known as style 1460 and still in production today, the first Dr. Martens boots in the UK went to shops on April 1st 1960. It was a nappa leather design cherry-red colored.

The first to use Dr. Martens were workers such as police officers, factory workers and postmen. It was produced under rough quality standards By  a number of shoe manufacturers in the Northamptonshire area.

Dr. Martens boots had been started to be worn by skinheads by the late 1960s. it became popular among some British New Wave musicians and punk rock by the late 1970s.

Other youth subcultures made the Dr. Martens boots and shoes popular brand among them following many punk fans that followed the punk rock and new wave fashion.

from 1998 to 2003 Rushden & Diamonds F.C. were sponsored by Dr. Martens. For that in 2001 a main stand was built at Nene Park. Due to the It was called sponsorship link it was called the ‘Airwair Stand’

Steel-toed boots, sandals and black shoes were the sign of Dr. Marten’s boots and shoes In the 2000s, while exclusively sold under the AirWair name. It came in numerous different styles.

Dr. Martens Company Production moved to China and Thailand on 1 April2003 due to pressure from declining sales. All production in the United Kingdom ceased.

The vegan-friendly non-leather products, produced since January, 2000 line came to end with this change
